Liaqat A. Khalfe, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Khalfe received his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry, in
1991. He also received his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Biology
from the University of Houston in 1989. Dr. Khalfe completed his
undergraduate (BSc.) and doctorate (O.D.) degrees in six and a
half years instead of the standard eight years. The College of
Optometry faculty voted Dr. Khalfe as one of the top ten clinicians
in Spring 1989, Fall 1989, and Spring 1990.
Dr. Khalfe is the founder of Eyeland Vision.
He envisioned an Optometric practice fully owned and operated
by a doctor whose number one priority would be the well-being
of the patient. He also wanted to serve his patients in a relaxed
and wistful environment, away from the chaotic and over-crowded
mall locations. Today, Eyeland Vision, is a reality and a visit
to any of the practices will confirm that Dr. Khalfe's vision
has been accomplished.
Dr. Khalfe is board certified to diagnose and treat most eye diseases
including red eyes,

dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy,
hypertensive retinopathy, foreign body removal and macular degeneration.
Dr. Khalfe has extensive experience in fitting
all kinds of contact lenses, including specialty contact lenses
for correction of astigmatism (toric contact lenses), presbyopia
(bifocal contact lenses), monovision (one eye fitted for distance
and the other for near), and keratokonus (abnormal corneal).
Dr. Khalfe is a member of the American
Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the
Harris County Optometric Association since 1987.
Dr. Khalfe has been providing for the last 13 years, free eye
exams to the homeless, during the "Save Your Vision Week"
sponsored by the American Optometric Association. He has also
served as the 2nd Vice President at the Commonwealth Elementary
School and is a volunteer at his children's Sunday school.

Nicole Noska, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Nicole Noska earned her undergraduate Bachelor
of Science degree at Texas A&M University studying Biomedical
Science. She graduated with honors from the University of Houston
College Of Optometry earning her Doctor Of Optometry degree in
2004. While in Optometry School, Dr. Noska was distinguished as
a clinician and was awarded Excellence in Cornea and Contact Lens
and Excellence in Optics. During school, Dr. Noska was also involved
in research sponsored by the National Eye Institute concerning
the development of binocular vision. She is an active member of
the American Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Society and
enjoys many outdoor sports and activities.

Olga Kotlyar, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Olga Kotlyar is a board certified therapeutic
optometrist. She graduated with honors from University of Houston
earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1998. She
received her Optometry training at the University of Houston College
of Optometry and has been practicing in Texas since 2003. She
has also completed postgraduate training as an Optometric Glaucoma
Specialist and has extensive experience with refractive surgery
and retinal disease.
Dr. Kotlyar is a member of the American Optometric
Association and the Texas Optometric Association as well as several
other national and local professional organizations. She enjoys
music, travel, languages, and can conduct an examination in Russian
and Spanish.

Patricia A. Brown, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Brown received her Doctor of Optometry degree
at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1986. She
received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Clark University
in Worcester, Massachusetts, and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience
from the University of Auckland, in New Zealand. She holds licenses
in five states to practice optometry. She is licensed by the state
of Texas as a Therapeutic Optometrist and as a Glaucoma Specialist.
Dr. Brown is involved in evaluating the clinical skills of optometric
license candidates, as a Clinical Examiner for the National Board
of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Brown each year participates in the Prevent
Blindness Program, a national program supplying examinations for
the needy at no charge. Dr. Brown also participates in Eyecare
for Kids, a local community service program. Her currents interests
in optometric care include: alleviation of computer vision syndrome,
complex contact lens fittings, specialty occupational vision needs,
and laser refractive surgery co-management.
Dr. Brown is a performing member of the Doctor’s
Orchestra of Houston. She also performs with the Houston Masterworks
Chorus, and is an active member of her church choir. Dr. Brown
has received recognition as a Volunteer in Public Schools, for
participation in her children’s school health fairs.
